As a way of thinking about architecture and reflecting the analysis carried out on the pre-existing conditions, our proposal is supported by simple rules, accepting stylistic overlaps and oppositions from a perspective of utility and functionality.
Faithful to these principles, we countered the logic of the existing (monolithic) building and proposed an extension based on a very light and refined composition, with interior courtyards that emphasize the scale of the whole, which is intended to be profoundly human.
We also introduced volumes and canopies painted in primary colors, establishing a strong connection with the experimental universe of the child and stimulating their curiosity.
As for the organization of the recreational and play areas, we adopted a grid oriented along the North/South axis (parallel to one of the site boundaries), within which pathways, furniture, a sports field (…) and landscaped areas are articulated.
