LOCATION Lima, Peru
Located at one of the gateways to Lima (the capital and largest city of Peru), the project aims to bring together a set of complementary activities that play an important role both in supporting travelers and in serving as a reference point in an area of the city marked by significant lack of planning.
The program includes multiple functions: hotel, retail, restaurant, cinemas, and parking.
Challenging the conventional shopping mall model, we chose to design several interconnected buildings as if composing an urban space, thus respecting the urban scale of the surroundings.
Sustainability also played a key role: we prioritized outdoor circulation and leisure spaces, along with green areas for users of the development. In this way, we eliminated the need for interior circulation areas that consume significant resources for air treatment and artificial lighting.
Finally, the project emphasizes the use of construction materials of regional origin and adopts a chromatic palette inspired by the traditional patterns of Peruvian textiles.
