SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE
YEAR 2023
AREA 513m2
LOCALITION Restelo, Lisboa, Portugal
The house is located in the Restelo neighborhood, in Lisbon. It is a 1960s residence with an interior layout and façades that are misaligned with contemporary architecture, and it does not meet accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility.

Some spaces have changed their function, and the interior configuration was reorganized to make better use of the available areas. Circulation was also rethought, mainly through the inclusion of an elevator, to achieve greater fluidity throughout the house.

The building originally had a compact, heavy appearance. To counter this effect, the ground floor was designed to carry the visual weight and density, with dark grey exterior walls, while the upper floors were painted white. This contrast gives the upper levels a greater sense of lightness. Additionally, vertical parallelepiped elements clad in Carrara marble were introduced, serving both as visual accents and as screens that provide privacy from neighboring properties.
