For the overall design of the project, its location — and above all, the morphology and topography of the terrain, characteristic of the Rio Seco area in Lisbon — were decisive factors.
The intervention site, with an area of 3,795 m², faces east and is located at the base of an escarpment, with altimetric variations ranging from 25.00 m to 40.20 m.
The aim is for the relationship between the buildings and the terrain to provide outdoor spaces that can be used in multiple ways, adding solutions that improve both pedestrian and vehicular circulation.
As for the modulation of the building, we propose two volumes oriented eastward, arranged longitudinally along the slope of the escarpment. Access, for both pedestrians and vehicles, will be through the square located to the east (at the lowest level).
